Persian Yalameh (Euniq-3374)
HANDMADE RUG - Yalameh is the name given to the colorful southern Iranian carpets woven primarily in and around the village of Aliabad in the southern Iranian province of Fars. Pieces from this origin were formerly called Shekarlu, but they were very rare. They were traditionally more colorful than other southern Iranian pieces, the palettes of which were restricted to reds and dark blues. In recent years, the supply of Shekarlu rugs had become restricted. Then, in the 1960's and 70's, a new type of rug appeared on the market. These were Yalameh. They were as colorful as the Shekarlu rugs, but with a stronger emphasis on blues. The weave and designs are generally more regular than those of Sherkalu rugs. They share many of the characteristics of tribal pieces; made of 100% wool with a fondness for bright colour and geometrical designs. However the wool, though characteristically soft and lustrous, is machine spun and the colors show more variety than is usual for tribal rugs, with soft shades - of red, pink, blue green and yellow. All the motifs however are entirely traditional and all sizes are produced. Other weaving center which come within the general category of Yalameh are Shekarlu.

Old Persian Heriz (Euniq-6021)
HANDMADE RUG - Heris Rug is a type of Persian rug from the area of Heris in northwest Iran northeast of Tabriz. The Heris Rug is produced in the villages of the slopes of Mount Sabalan. It is an extremely durable hard-wearing rug and the Heris rug has now passed Bijar Rugs as the Iron Rug of Iran. Heris are thick, tough, and often inexpensive rugs that appeal strongly to the US market. Part of the reason for the toughness of Heris carpets is that Mount Sabalan is sitting on a major deposit of Copper. Trace copper in the drinking water of the sheep produces high quality wool. The copper makes the wool stronger and far more resilient than wool from other areas.

Persian rugs history

Persian rugs and persian carpets of different kinds were woven in parallel by itinerant clans, in town and town workshops, and by illustrious court manufactories alike. In that capacity, they speak to various, synchronous lines of custom, and mirror the historical backdrop of Iran and its different people groups. The floor coverings woven in the Safavid court manufactories of Isfahan amid the sixteenth century are celebrated for their intricate hues and artistic structure, and are cherished in historical centers and private accumulations everywhere throughout the present reality. Their examples and plans have set an imaginative custom for court manufactories which was kept alive amid the whole term of the Persian Empire up to the last imperial administration of Iran.

Handmade rugs and floor coverings

Handmade rugs woven in towns and local focuses like Tabriz, Kerman, Mashhad, Kashan, Isfahan, Nain and Qom are described by their particular weaving methods and utilization of brilliant materials, hues and examples. Town manufactories like those of Tabriz have assumed an imperative verifiable job in restoring the custom of cover weaving after times of decrease. Floor coverings and area rugs woven by the towns and different clans of Iran are recognized by their fine fleece, splendid and expand hues, and explicit, conventional examples. Traveling and little town weavers regularly create floor coverings, area rugs with bolder and in some cases progressively coarse structures, which are considered as the most genuine and conventional mats of Persia, rather than the imaginative, pre-arranged plans of the bigger work environments. Gabbeh mats are the best-known sort of cover from this line of custom. Despite the fact that the manufacture of individual handmade persian rugs have gone into decline due to the ever changing negative implications of iran’s political stature; their quality and price is not affected. If anything this has caused persian rugs to be more rare over time, thus causing them to be pricier by the progression of time. So not only are persian rugs a beautiful addition to any home or work place, but they shout class and elegance; not to mention they are an investment in their own right, as a piece of art, and history.
