Ziegler (Beige) (265605)
HANDMADE RUG - Ziegler is the name of a design rather than an actual city or tribe. Ziegler design rugs are sometimes known as Chobi rugs or Peshawar rugs. A German company based in Manchester (England), Ziegler and Co. commissioned the development of the original Ziegler rugs back in 1883. Using leading designers and master weavers from Iran and Europe, Ziegler and Co. managed to create a design using softer palettes than those typically found in Persia. Ziegler rugs were designed with the western market in mind and fit perfectly into almost any home. Based on a softer version of the Sultanabad design their muted colours using vegetable dyes and simple, yet striking pattern fit well with modern neutral colour schemes and both contemporary or traditional furniture. The weaving of Zeigler rugs began in the Arak provence, however, they are now made all over the Persian region. Zeiglers have re-introduced vegetable dyes back into Persian & Oriental weaving after the popular use of chemical dyes since the start of the 20th century. Although their knot count is not generally high (around 80-120 KPSI), the hand-spun Ghazni or Himalayan wool used is of high quality and the structure very durable. Ziegler rugs are possibly the most popular and sought after handmade rugs in the UK due to their gentle tones and softer patterns - there are not many rooms that would not be improved by a Ziegler rug. Tribal rugs are unmistakable by their increasingly geometric themes instead of the curvilinear and flower themes of city carpets. It is broadly trusted that the craftsmanship and specialty of hand made rugs started with the peaceful travelers of Central Asia, the nomads of the area. These roaming individuals had a prepared supply of fleece from their sheep. The principal floor coverings were presumably straightforward creature pelts. Yet, at some early purpose of human improvement, weaving was imagined. It is trusted that the principal hitched heap covers maybe looked like creature pelts with long heap shag. Much like the present Turkish tulu carpets, these early woven "pelt" floor coverings were warm covers and bedding.

In spite of the fact that fleece is utilized to make felts for tents and level woven materials all through Central Asia, it is just the more western clans that seemed to build up the more perplexing tied heap method.

The 1860s saw the advancement of the primary manufactured colors. These early aniline colours ended up being awful. They blurred quickly in the sun, they ran when washed with water and they had flashy and excessively brilliant tones. Nonetheless, their usability implied that they had before long replaced the excellent regular colours that had recently been utilized by every single innate weaver. Many feel that the presentation of manufactured colours spelt the finish of "real" innate weavings however this is just in part evident. It was absolutely additionally a casualty of the machine age and the constrained settlement of beforehand itinerant people groups. These individuals started to weave floor coverings more for market trade as opposed to individual and inborn personality. So configuration were transformed and changed and transformed into below average duplicates of the fine materials that had preceded. In a few regions, the decay happened more quickly than in others. In some remote pockets, native weavers kept on making credible ancestral weavings. A fine tribal piece can evoke an essence of persian regalia and add a touch of eastern charm and class, though can also look quite fitting in a more humble and simpler decor.
