Yalameh is the name given to the colourful southern Iranian carpets woven primarily in and around the village of Aliabad in the southern Iranian province of Fars. The colours in Yalameh rug shows more variety than is usual for tribal rugs, with soft shades - of red, pink, blue green and yellow. This particular rug has strong dominance of dark blue and red in it. All other colours are also mixed in the rug but blends in so well that only the dark red and blue colour highlights in this one. The combination of these two strong colours along with other colour makes this rug stunning. The geometric design in the rug with angles is a distinctive style of tribal rugs.
